Hot Spell

July had 21 days with high temperatures of 90 degrees or higher; the last five weeks have had 25 such days. That is way too hot for western Montana! Normally we don't have more than about 10 days of this hot weather. At least the nights are starting to cool off.

Maybe an air conditioner is worth it....I know it sounds weird but I had to get one, to use about 10 days out of the summer. In order to have the most restful, restorative R.E.M. sleep, your head needs to be a few degrees cooler than your body.
I know it's not common in Montana to have an air conditioner, but it sure makes sleeping more comfortable!
